Nissan – The Essence of Japan

We were invited by Nissan Design Center (NDC) in London to help their mostly European designers, understand the key concepts and themes of Japanese art & craft culture.

Using our tacit knowledge of Japanese culture, alongside research, workshops, lectures and visual materials, we worked with NDC London to uncover ‘The Essence of Japan’.

The results were used to communicate this ‘Essence’ in the design implementation of vehicles for the European market, and to differentiate Nissan in a crowded market.

    Plastic Logic make flexible e-ink displays, they asked us to create the ‘i-pod of books’, to do this we
