In the spring of 2019 year David became a visiting Professor at Kanazawa Art College. Well known in Japan, graduates include Shigeru Miyamoto – game designer for Nintendo, Hiromasa Yonebayashi – animation director for Studio Ghibli and the most well known Japanese Industrial Designer Sori Yanagi lectured here for almost 50 years. It has a wonderful creative atmosphere, the students are humble, open and hard working. Its a privelage to work with them. As well as being a beautiful area, the city boasts great museums like the 21st Century Museum and the architecturally serene DT Suzuki Museum of Zen philosophy.
2019年の春から、デビッドは金沢美術工芸大学の客員教授になりました。卒業生には任天堂のゲームデザイナーとして知られる宮本茂氏、スタジオジブリで監督を務めた米林宏昌氏、また日本を代表する工業デザイナーである柳宗理氏は約50年にわたって金沢美術工芸大学で教鞭をとりました。金沢美術工芸大学はものづくりの環境が素晴らしく、学生達は謙虚でオープンで勉強熱心です。彼らとプロジェクトに取り組めることはとても光栄なことです。金沢は美しい街であると同時に金沢21世紀美術館、仏教哲学を思索する場を目的とした鈴木大拙館などの素晴らしい博物館があります。
